Mountains Where We Race

Mid-Atlantic Masters hosts Masters alpine races at mountains across New York (Catskills, Adirondacks, Berkshires), New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, most within a 3-4 hour drive of New York City or Philadelphia. We also hold offseason events at an an indoor slope in New Jersey. The pages below share details about each venue where we have raced previously, including which trail we race, how long the lift takes, where to warm up, which season pass works at each mountain, and more. If you are traveling to a venue for the first time, the mountain information pages are a great resource to help you plan your trip.

What a Race Weekend Looks Like

When you sign up for a race weekend with Mid-Atlantic Masters, remember to register online through AdminSkiRacing in advance. We don't have day-of registration. Once you arrive at the mountain, find our registration desk to check in and receive your lift ticket (a lift ticket is included in your race fee). Course inspection opens anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour before the start of the race. For giant slalom and slalom our races have two runs. For super-g you get one run. After the race, hang around for awards (we give medals for 1st/2nd/3rd in each 5-year age group for men and women) and a fun social get-together in the lodge or a nearby bar. Our race weekends are all about having fun and skiing fast!

New to ski racing? Our Adult Ski Racing 101 page can give you more details about what masters racing entails.

Other Mountains Where We Race

Each season we jointly score races held by New York Masters and New England Masters. These jointly-scored races often take place in Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or eastern New York. You can check our schedule for more information about these races!

New to Adult Ski Racing?

If you are still learning about Masters racing, we have a ton of reference material to help you get oriented.

Adult Ski Racing 101 The plain-English overview: what Masters racing is, how it differs from NASTAR, and why nobody here cares that you have never run a gate.
Getting Started The practical route in — which license to buy, what membership adds, and how race entry works.
Camps & Training Weeknight beer leagues, weekly gate sessions and multi-day camps, for anyone who would rather practise before pinning on a bib.
Equipment The one hard requirement is a helmet. This explains the rest, including why your current skis are probably fine.
Results Times from past race days, by venue and age class — a realistic look at the field you would be joining.
