Local Shops
- The Pro Ski and Ride: 7535 Main St. Hunter, NY 12442. The Pro Ski and Ride is a full-service ski and snowboard shop located a half mile away from Hunter Mountain. They provide specialty services at our store including expert boot fitting from MasterFit University and BootDoc accredited fitters; ski and snowboard tuning and repair via our state-of-the-art Wintersteiger Jupiter; as well as quality equipment rentals.
Hunter Mountain Lodging Information
Note – Sometimes people are interested in sharing a room with other campers or racers. If you are interested, pop a note to [email protected] and we’ll do our best to connect folks.
Hunter Mt provides a 20% discount if you have an EPIC pass. Call them for the discount.
Here’s a few lodging options that might work. We don’t have any input on how good these places are, but you can check them out. Also check out Airbnb; there is a pretty big selection. (see below)
- Catskill Lodge in Palenville about 20 min (12 miles) from Hunter
- Scribner’s Lodge – Very nice but I’m sure it’s expensive
- Bluebird Hunter Lodge (used to be Hunter Inn) (518) 441-0523. New owners. Very nice inside. All rooms redone but pricey. A quick search has a double queen room for around $238/night.
- Americana Mountain Lodge (518) 628-5068 about 2 miles from mountain. Recently changed hands. Small motel. Listed on airbnb for around $166/night the week of our camp
- Hotel Vienna (518) 734-5300 On Route 296 after Hensonville but before Route 23.
- SunView Motel in Tannersville (655) 516-1090. Looks like average rate is about $157. Heard positive reports.
- The Mansion House – This is in Tannersville so walking distance to some good restaurants. Rates listed as $75-$95.
- The Snowed Inn – Inexpensive Small B&B. Not fancy.
- Twilight Lodge [email protected] 646.875.0686, 518.589.3910 (Haines Falls)
- Howard Johnson’s Saugerties Exit by Thruway exit 20. About 28 min (18.6 miles) to Hunter
- Holiday Inn Express at the Thruway exit 20. About 28 min (18.6 mi) to Hunter.
- Comfort Inn – Saugerties Exit by Thruway exit 20. About 28 min (18.6 miles to Hunter)
- The Black Bear Lodge – Some people stayed there for the camp and liked it

Hunter Mountain Restaurant Information
- Ronnie MacGregor’s Pub – across from Hunter’s main entrance. (518) 263-9953. Local bar with pub food. Happy hour Monday –Friday 4-6.
- Hunter Mountain Brewery – about 1 mile from entrance to Hunter (518 263-3300. Good food and craft beers. Thursday night is Sushi night.
- Jesse’s Harvest House – on east end of Tannersville. (518) 589-5445. Great food but expensive. They also have lodging there.
- Selena’s Diner –in Haines Falls. (518) 589-0438. Typical diner food.
- Pancho Villas’s in Tannerville (518) 589-5134 Great Mexican Food and margaritas.
- Jagersberg – just outside entrance to Hunter. (518) 628-5788 German food but a bit pricey. Very good food.
- Brandywine – west of Windham on Route 23. (518) 734-3838. Wednesday is pasta night. $11.95 for several different selections. Excellent but must make reservation.
- Chicken Run – west of Windham on Route 23. (518) 734-5353. Family place but food is good.
- Tap House Grille – in Windham (518) 734-9090. Bar food and craft beer. Decent food.
