Fun, Friends, and Fast Skiing!
Mid-Atlantic Masters hopes to encourage participation in ski racing by younger adults by removing one of the most common barriers to entry--cost. For the 2025-2026 season, we are introducing a new Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program that helps reduce the cost to participate in Mid-Atlantic Masters Events. This program has limited availability, so don't miss out!
Benefits
Financial
- After purchasing a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Masters Membership, Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program participants will save $36 per Mid-Atlantic hosted race for your first 4 races in the 2025-2026 season, essentially paying for your USSS membership over four races.
- Mid-Atlantic Masters will waive our membership fee ($30) for Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program participants, which makes you eligible for end of season scoring.
This is a $174 savings, which is the cost of your USSS Masters Membership AND your Mid-Atlantic Masters Membership!
Lodging and Transportation
- If you are a racer who is looking to share transportation to races or lodging, we maintain a spreadsheet for Mid-Atlantic racers that lists people who are looking to share transportation and/or lodging for each race weekend. All Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program participants are encouraged to use the transportation and lodging matchmaking spreadsheet! We will share the link to the spreadsheet with all program participants and Mid-Atlantic Masters members.
Social
- Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program participants will be able to participate in Mid-Atlantic team scoring as part of a dedicated Next Gen team! The team scoring element in our races creates a fun additional element of camaraderie and friendly competition.
- Many Mid-Atlantic Masters races include post-race social events. Our members love to ski fast and have a blast, and our aprés activities are a great opportunity to hang out with your fellow racers.
Eligibility
- The Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program is open to male and female class 1 and class 2 racers (ages 18-34), who are participating in their first season with Mid-Atlantic Masters.
- Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program participants need to purchase a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Masters Membership.
- Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program benefits only apply to races hosted by Mid-Atlantic Masters. We encourage you to attend races hosted by our sister race series (e.g. New York Masters, New England Masters, etc), but we are unable to extend Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program benefits for races that are not hosted by Mid-Atlantic Masters. Sometimes we jointly-score races that are hosted by other race series; however, since Mid-Atlantic Masters does not host those races, any jointly-scored races on our seasonal schedule are not eligible for Next Gen Program benefits.

Examples
Eligible Racers
- Jake, who is 33, previously participated in Masters races in the Rocky Mountain Division. For the 2025-2026 season, Jake has relocated to Pennsylvania and plans to race with Mid-Atlantic Masters. Jake purchases a USSS Alpine Masters Membership and contacts Mid-Atlantic Masters to join the Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program. Jake will receive the $36/race discount for the first 4 Mid-Atlantic hosted races that he participates in during the 2025-2026 season.
- Cynthia, who is 22, has never held a U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership, and has never raced with Mid-Atlantic Masters. Cynthia participated in her first race during the 2025-2026 season using a complimentary short-term license, and then decided to purchase a full USSS Alpine Masters Membership. Cynthia is eligible for Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program benefits starting on the date when she purchased her USSS Alpine Masters Membership, and will receive the $36/race discount for the next 4 Mid-Atlantic hosted races that she participates in after the date of her USSS Alpine Masters Membership purchase.
Ineligible Racers
- Amanda, who is 25, has been racing with both Mid-Atlantic Masters and New England Masters for the past two years. Amanda has never purchased a Mid-Atlantic Masters membership, but over her previous two seasons, raced in a total of 7 Mid-Atlantic hosted races. Amanda chooses to purchase a Mid-Atlantic Membership for the 2025-2026 season to support the organization, but is not eligible for the Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program.
- Peter, who is 38, has never held a U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership and has never raced with Mid-Atlantic Masters. Peter purchases a USSS Alpine Masters membership. However, since Peter is older than 34, he is not eligible for the Next Gen Masters Kick Start Program. Peter can still take advantage of the discounts offered as part of the Race with a Friend Referral Program!
